The stock split will follow a 1:10 ratio. In simple terms, this means that every existing share with a face value of Rs 10 will be divided into 10 new shares with each carrying a face value of Rs 1.

Furthermore, it is also important to understand that the total value of holdings for investors remains the same. The number of shares in circulation will increase tenfold.

To understand it more better, stock split does not change the overall market value of the company but makes individual shares more affordable.

Tata Investment stock split: Record date and eligibility

The official record date for the split is October 14. Shareholders listed in the company’s register or the depository participant’s beneficial ownership records by this date will be eligible to receive the split shares.

However, it is also important to note that investors holding physical shares to convert them to demat form or submit demat details by October 9 to ensure direct allotment.

Tata Investment stock split: Changes in share capital

Post-split, Tata Investment authorised share capital will rise from 6 crore shares of Rs 10 each to 60 crore shares of Rs 1 each.

In a similar note, issued and paid-up capital will increase proportionally, giving shareholders ten times the number of shares they currently hold, without changing the overall investment value.

Investors holding shares in physical form must dematerialise them to receive the new Rs 1 shares in electronic form. Those who cannot complete the demat process need to submit an annexure with demat account details to the registrar by October 9. Shares will be credited only in demat form.

The share price of Tata Investment has gained 12% over the past five days. On a one-month basis, the stock has delivered a return of nearly 15%. So far in 2025, the company’s share price has risen approximately 17%.
