Apple unveiled the all new MacBook Pro at an event in October. But, ever since consumers have got hold of the device with the Touch Bar, there have been several complaints about software, interface and battery related issues. According to reports, the problems have been so huge that the devices have crashed to the point of unusability. This is not great news for Apple, as it is, especially because it is more expensive than all its previous variants. Additionally, there is also the problem that it is very much dependant on third party devices and dongles. Though the addition of the Touch Bar was a fresh concept with high potential for the future, now that the devices are being shipped by high volumes, people have been cribbing about battery problems with it also.
Though there have been several complaints about the device, flowing in on social media sites like Reddit and other forums, a 9to5Mac report suggests that there is a problem with the estimated battery life. When a user works on a battery intensive app, the estimated battery life reduces dramatically and does not rise up once the app is closed. Added to this, people have been reported to be claiming that the device which promises to give 10 hours of battery life have functioned somewhere between 3 hours to 6 hours only. According to a 9to5Mac report, the battery life rarely crossed the 8-hour mark. The issue was initially found only in the 15 inch MacBook Pro but later even the 13-inch device users also made complaints about it.

It is not clear if the problem is due to the AMD GPUs only, as the issue seems to affect only some of the devices. But then again this specification is not present in the 13-inch models of the MacBook pro. Reports suggest that he i7-based MacBook Pro performed a bit worse than the i5-based model but that is only in light apps. There have been reports of problems with the graphics in the system. According to a MacRumors report, the MacOS 12.2.2 beta could solve that issue, but it is unclear if it also solves the battery related problems. One might say that this is not a great issue as no company actually provides the battery life as it advertises, but the interesting thing is Apple already had claimed a value lesser than its previous model, the MacBook Pro (2015) which had 12 hours of battery life.
