WhatsApp is—without a doubt—one of the most used instant messaging platforms for both, individuals and businesses. It was released keeping smartphones in mind, and it initially focused on just smartphones. No Windows, no MacOS.
Fun Fact: It was named WhatsApp just because it sounds like “What’s up!”
It missed several features—it is widely used today. However, the app kept updating and revamping itself with new additions. Years of launch and multiple revamps later, it still follows the principle—“No ads! No games! No gimmicks!”

WhatsApp coming soon on the iPad
First reported by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp beta’s latest version is available on Apple’s TestFlight and compatible with iPadOS. Earlier, iPad users could use the web-based version called WhatsApp Web. Because there was no iPad app, and the iOS app wasn’t compatible.
With the beta release of WhatsApp for iPad, it works similarly to the Mac version of WhatsApp. It also gets a similar interface, all thanks to its larger display. Once you install and open the app, it asks you to scan a QR code. Afterwards, WhatsApp downloads all your conversations and now you can send or receive messages.

Notably, you will still need an Android or iPhone to create an account because just like Mac, WhatsApp iPad is yet another companion app. However, this app works even when the iPhone or Android is not nearby, similar to Windows and Mac apps.
When will WhatsApp for iPad be released?
There’s no clear release date. Apple reportedly began working on it in 2021, and we have the beta version now, hinting that the most of work has been done already. We may expect the app to come some during late 2023, or early 2024.
