WhatsApp is working on new features for its widely popular and recently launched channels. Following the recent global launch announcement by Mark Zuckerberg, WhatsApp users can expect more enhanced ways to interact with channel updates. In the latest beta update for Android version 2.23.20.6, WaBetaInfo has spotted the app’s ability to reply to channel updates. It will allow followers to reply to channel updates.

With this upcoming feature, users will see a reply indicator alongside the reaction bubble, indicating the number of responses a particular channel update has received. Notably, privacy remains a top priority, as WhatsApp ensures that users’ phone numbers are guarded even when participating in channel discussions.

While the channel update reply feature is currently in development, it is expected to be included in a forthcoming app update. WhatsApp users can also look forward to an additional important discussion feature to channels that will give users with an additional tool to interact with other followers and the content they are engaging with.

WhatsApp launched the Channels feature last week. Meta Chief Mark Zuckerberg announced the roll out of Channels in more than 150 countries including India. Channels is a one-way broadcasting tool that allows users to send messages to a large audience. It was announced by him on his WhatsApp channel.

“Excited to introduce you all to WhatsApp Channels, a new private way for you to get updates from people and organizations you follow. I’m starting this channel to share Meta news and updates. Looking forward to connecting with you all around the world,” Zuckerberg announced.

Channels in now live in India with many celebrities and big names joining the platform. PM Modi also recently joined the Channels.
