Poco F6 has officially arrived as India’s first smartphone with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor. It’s not the best smartphone that Poco makes at the time of writing—that would be the Poco F6 Pro—but it’s got the goods to go far, much like its predecessor—Poco F5—did. The Poco F6 in fact is such a huge upgrade, Poco has quite literally flipped the script on the Poco F5. Everything from the screen to the camera, charging, and software have been revamped. The price, surprisingly, hasn’t shot up either which is the real kicker. Like the Poco F5, the Poco F6 still manages to start at under Rs 30,000.

Poco is undercutting Realme too but to be completely fair, the Realme GT 6T offers better hardware including an LTPO AMOLED screen and faster 120W charging at a slightly higher price, which is fair game. Its Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 3 is no slouch either. At the end of the day, it would all narrow down to personal preferences as both phones have their own merits and some trade offs, too. The Realme GT 6T for instance doesn’t have any IP rating. The Poco F6 has IP64. So on and so forth.

Here’s a quick rundown on the Poco F6’s top specs, features, and more:

  1. Design: The back of the phone is made of plastic with a matte finish. The design feels a bit uninspired, even next to last year’s Poco F5 but at least you get proper IP64 rating. It comes in a choice of titanium and black. It weighs 179g and measures 7.8mm, so fairly slim and light.
  2. Display: The panel is tall—6.67-inch—AMOLED, with a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It gets bright at up to 2,400 nits. Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection is available. So is Dolby Vision playback support. Biometrics are handled by an in-screen fingerprint reader.
  3. Processor: Powering the Poco F6 is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip.
  4. Memory: Poco ships the F6 with up to 512GB of fast UFS4.0 storage. The RAM can go up to 12GB and uses the LPDDR5x-type. The phone comes in a choice of 8GB/256GB, 12GB/256GB, and 12GB/512GB.
  5. Software: The phone runs Xiaomi’s HyperOS based on Android 14. Poco is committing to three years of major OS and four years of security updates.
  6. Camera: The Poco F6 has a dual camera setup on the rear headlined by a 50-megapixel Sony IMX882 primary sensor behind an f/1.59 optically stabilised lens paired to another 8-megapixel ultrawide. The front camera is a 20-megapixel.
  7. Speakers: The Poco F6 has dual speakers with Dolby Atmos playback support.
  8. Connectivity: The phone supports Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4 and NFC. It also has an IR blaster.
  9. Battery, charging: The Poco F6 has a 5,000mAh battery with 90W fast charging baked in.
  10. India price: The Poco F6 comes in a choice of 8GB/256GB, 12GB/256GB, and 12GB/512GB for Rs 29,999, Rs 31,999, and Rs 33,999 respectively.
