Motorola recently joined its parent company’s event, Lenovo Tech World ’23, where it showcased a smartphone…err something that can be rolled on your wrist like a smart bracelet with all the phone features. It unveiled a prototype which looks like a more advanced and worked version of a previous prototype that the company had showcased in 2016.
Experiments are good, such experiments bring innovation to the smartphone world
Coming to the prototype which is like a smartphone on the wrist like a smart bracelet you can wear or just hold like a handset, it is a smartphone that rolls. It features a 6.9-inch FHD pOLED display and the company says that it “can be bent and shaped into different forms depending on users’ needs,” pretty interesting, right?

Motorola further explains that it offers the flexibility to extend fully flat for traditional smartphone use, partially bend like foldable phones when placed on a desk, and even wrap around your wrist, resembling a smart slap bracelet as it transforms.
The Adaptive Display concept can also be flexed to create an upward curve in the top half, making it more ergonomic for viewing. This configuration allows for a 4.6-inch display to stand on its own, perfect for tasks like video calls, scrolling through social media, and other vertical-oriented activities. It offers versatile use options.

There’s still time…
But…don’t be too excited as it is still a concept phone, and that’s why we don’t have information about its price or when it will be available. There will be more questions when it becomes available like its durability, its comfort especially to wearing something as heavy as a smartphone for day-long, and most importantly, whether it’s possible to find a protective case for this. We hope we soon get answers for these, and tech continues to advance.
