Apple is gearing up to bring its next-generation iPhones to the Indian market in the near future. The upcoming iPhone 17 lineup is rumored to include four variants — the regular iPhone 17, a sleeker iPhone 17 Air, the more advanced iPhone 17 Pro, and the top-tier iPhone 17 Pro Max. All four iPhone models launching in 2025 are expected to include ProMotion display technology, offering a 120Hz peak refresh rate for fluid scrolling and enhanced video playback. This marks a major shift, as ProMotion will no longer be exclusive to the Pro variants, but instead available across the entire iPhone 17 lineup. Apple traditionally unveils its new iPhones in September, and the iPhone 17 lineup is anticipated to follow the same schedule this year. For reference, the iPhone 16 series was launched on September 9, 2024, while the iPhone 15 lineup made its debut on September 12, 2023.

All iPhone models launching in 2025 are rumored to include a major front camera upgrade, moving from the 12MP sensor in the iPhone 16 series to a new 24MP selfie camera. This enhancement is expected to deliver sharper photos and enable users to crop images more effectively without losing detail.
At the top of the lineup, the iPhone 17 Pro Max is said to feature an advanced triple 48MP setup—a Wide lens, an Ultra Wide lens, and a Tetraprism Telephoto lens. This would make it the first iPhone equipped with three 48MP rear cameras, and it is also tipped to support 8K video recording for the first time.
The more affordable iPhone 17 Air is likely to come with a single 48MP rear camera, while the standard iPhone 17 is expected to include a dual-lens configuration combining a Wide and an Ultra Wide sensor.

Leaks indicate that the iPhone 17 will feature a 6.3-inch display, an upgrade from the 6.1-inch screen on its predecessor. This puts it on par with the iPhone 16 Pro, and Apple reportedly intends to keep the same 6.3-inch size for the iPhone 17 Pro as well.
Apple is said to be discontinuing the Plus variant in the new lineup, leaving the standard iPhone 17 as the only entry-level option. As for screen sizes across the series, the iPhone 17 and 17 Pro are expected to measure 6.3 inches, the slimmer iPhone 17 Air will have a 6.6-inch panel, and the iPhone 17 Pro Max will top the range with a 6.9-inch display.
According to leaked CAD renders, prototypes, and dummy units, the iPhone 17 will retain the same rear camera design as its predecessor. In contrast, the slimmer iPhone 17 Air is expected to sport a single-lens rear camera with an elongated camera bump.
Meanwhile, the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max will continue to feature a triple-camera system, but this time placed on a wider horizontal bump. This revised layout is said to provide greater spacing between the three lenses, the LiDAR scanner, and the flash, while keeping the familiar overall arrangement.

Reports suggest that the iPhone 17 may either carry forward the A18 Bionic chip used in the iPhone 16 or debut with a newer A19 processor. Whichever variant Apple chooses, the chipset is likely to be manufactured using TSMC’s advanced 3nm process technology.
In terms of memory, the standard iPhone 17 is expected to ship with 8GB of RAM, similar to its predecessor, while the Pro editions could step up to 12GB of RAM.
All four models in the lineup are anticipated to launch with iOS 26, the latest software version that Apple introduced during WWDC 2025.

The iPhone 17 series is expected to debut in India with a starting price of roughly ₹79,900. However, reports suggest that both the standard and Pro variants could see a notable price increase compared to the previous generation.
Industry analysts point to trade regulations introduced during the Trump administration, along with rising economic pressures and heightened U.S.–China tensions, as key factors driving up manufacturing costs in Chinese production facilities. These higher expenses are likely to ripple through to global retail pricing.
In the United States, the base iPhone 17 is projected to cost around $899, while in the UAE, starting prices are expected to begin at approximately AED 3,799.
