Apple’s iPhone 17 lineup is expected to make its debut next month, with Apple planning a special September event to showcase its latest generation of iPhones. Apple is expected to roll out the iPhone 17 series in four variants, which will reportedly include the regular iPhone 17, a sleeker iPhone 17 Air, along with the premium iPhone 17 Pro and the top-tier iPhone 17 Pro Max.
Amidst all of this craze ahead of the launch of the iPhone 17 series, led to a mishap. Apple accidentally posted the invite for its September 9 iPhone 17 launch event on the Apple TV app. The company quickly removed it, but the banner image shows a glimpse of the original MacBook Air wallpaper. This could have been done to celebrate the first ‘Air’ device in the iPhone lineup with the iPhone 17 Air.
What happened?
Apple mistakenly posted an invite on the Apple TV app for it’s rumored iPhone 17 September 9 launch event. Although the company quickly removed the page. The invite, which was spotted by Apple Leaker, shared a post on X, showing a blurry screenshot of the event on Apple TV. As you can tell from the banner image for the September 9 event, it shows an Apple logo with bright purple rays shining from the back.

This could be true since it will be the first time, we will see an “Air” model in the lineup. So, Apple might want to give the new model as much spotlight as possible in its event.
The “accident” could also be intentional as a way to tease the upcoming launch. Apple usually sends out invites for its iPhone launch event in the last week of August, but this was earlier than usual which could be the reason why it was taken down. That being said, we are only a few weeks away from the launch of Apple’s next iPhone lineup. After the launch of the Pixel 10 series, I can’t wait to see what Apple has in store for us.

Leaks suggest that the iPhone 17 Air may debut at $949, which roughly converts to Rs 94,900 in India — around Rs 5,000 higher than the previous Plus model. The iPhone 17 Pro is expected to carry a U.S. price of $1,049, and with Apple’s usual premium pricing for Pro variants, its Indian launch price could be close to Rs 1,21,900. Meanwhile, the flagship iPhone 17 Pro Max is rumoured to be priced at $1,249 in the U.S., potentially retailing in India for about Rs 1,39,900 — also about Rs 5,000 more than its iPhone 16 Pro Max predecessor.
