Google has officially launched the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, its highly anticipated foldable smartphone. The device, unveiled alongside the Pixel 9 series, marks the company’s entry into the expanding Indian foldable segment.
The Pixel 9 Pro Fold features an external 6.3-inch Actua display with a 20:9 aspect ratio, 1080 x 2424 resolution, and OLED technology, offering up to 1800 nits peak brightness. The internal screen is an 8-inch Super Actua Flex display with a 2076 x 2152 resolution and LTPO technology, supporting up to 1600 nits peak brightness. Both displays feature Smooth Display with variable refresh rates of up 120Hz.
Coming to the dimensions, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold when folded, measures 155.2 x 77.1 x 10.5 mm and when unfolded it is 155.2 x 150.2 x 5.1 mm. The hinge is made from multi-alloy steel with an aerospace-grade aluminum alloy cover.
The Pixel 9 Pro Fold has a 4650 mAh battery (minimum 4560 mAh) with up to 24 hours of use and 72 hours with Extreme Battery Saver. It supports fast charging with Google’s 45W USB-C Charger and wireless charging (Qi-certified).
The phone is powered by the Google Tensor G4 processor along with a Titan M2 security coprocessor for multi-layer hardware security and features Google VPN at no extra cost. This is paired with 16 GB RAM and storage options of 256 GB or 512 GB, varying by region.
The rear camera system includes a 48 MP wide lens, 10.5 MP ultrawide lens with Macro Focus, and a 10.8 MP telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom and up to 20x Super Res Zoom. The front camera and inner camera are both 10 MP with 87° field of view. The camera system supports 4K video recording, Night Sight, and various editing features like Magic Eraser and Best Take.
The durability is looked after by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and an aerospace-grade aluminum alloy frame along with IPX8 water resistance rating.
The Pixel 9 Pro Fold launches with Android 14 and is guaranteed 7 years of OS, security, and Pixel Drop updates. It includes fingerprint and face unlock, pattern, PIN, and password authentication. The connectivity option includes Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth v5.3, NFC, Google Cast, and 5G (both mmWave and Sub-6GHz). The phone includes dual SIM support (Nano SIM and eSIM) and various GNSS systems for global positioning.
The additional features you get include stereo speakers, 3 microphones, spatial audio, and various accessibility features such as TalkBack and Live Caption. The phone will ship with a 1m USB-C to USB-C cable and a SIM tool in the box.
The Pixel 9 Pro Fold is priced at Rs 1,72,999. It will be available in early September.
