Men in Black actor Will Smith and his company have been sued by a professional violinist, Brian King Joseph, reported People. Accusing him of sexual harassment, the musician filed a complaint on Tuesday, December 30, against the star and Treyball Studios Management Inc. Joseph, in the complaint, claimed that Smith ‘was deliberately grooming and priming’ him for ‘further sexual exploitation.’
Smith has reportedly asked him to join the ‘Based on a True Story’ global tour of 2025. The complaint also alleged a ‘romantic series of events’ in March 2025, during the event. This accusation follows a $3 million lawsuit filed against his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith. It came from former associate Bilaal Salaam (Brother Bilaal) for alleged verbal threats. He had earlier claimed that the couple, Will and Jada, ‘are really mad and say it’s a lot of crap,’ as per a People report.
Will Smith under harassment lawsuit
The ‘romantic series of events’ started in March 2025, as per Joseph’s complaint against Will Smith. He alleged that someone had been in his hotel room in Las Vegas, without any forced entry. The evidence of ‘a sexual threat of violence’ even included a hand-written note, which read, “Brian, I’ll be back…just us,” with a drawn heart and signed, “Stone F,” as well as “wipes, a beer bottle, a red backpack, a bottle of HIV medication with another individual’s name, an earring, and hospital discharge paperwork belonging to a person unbeknownst to” Joseph.
Following this incident, Joseph reported the incident to the hotel staff, a local non-emergency police line and Smith’s management team. Despite an alleged threat of that unknown person returning to cause harm to Joseph, he was reportedly ‘shamed’ by a member of Smith’s tour management team. He was then told that he was being terminated, with another violinist hired to replace him.
As per Joseph’s claims, the incident had caused him “severe emotional distress, economic loss, reputational harm, and other damages.” The complaint filed against Smith and Treyball also included, “PTSD and other mental illness as a result of the termination.” Joseph was initially an America’s Got Talent season 13 top-three finalist in 2018.
