As we shift towards a more digitized era, automation is becoming a key part of today’s day to day life. To contribute to more ‘automation’, Google plans to come with an artificial intelligence (AI) tool aimed at automating web-tasks.
As reported by The Information, Google is working on an AI tool named ‘Project Jarvis.’ The AI tool will help to automate your web-based tasks. Let’s have a look at what more it has to offer!
Introducing ‘Project Jarvis’
So, what is ‘Project Jarvis’? Project Jarvis is capable of “carrying tasks out for users, including gathering research, purchasing a product, or booking a flight,” some of the people associated with the project told The Verge. It is expected to be available by the end of December 2024. This upcoming project is powered by Google’s AI tool Gemini AI.
But how will this AI tool work? So, Jarvis has been specifically designed to work with Google Chrome. With the web browsing platform, the AI tool will perform actions such as entering text, interpreting screenshots and clicking buttons. Moreover, it’s just like we humans can do with the help of a keyboard. But this time it’s AI! For example, it can book hotels for you, do research and much more. You don’t need to intervene.
Well, as of now the project is at a testing phase and is expected to roll out to all soon. The tech giant also aims to make sure that before rolling out ‘Project Jarvis’, it’s fully upgraded. Also, the company plans to consider releasing the AI tool to some small number of testers. This is to find and help the company work out on bugs, if any.
How much automation is too much automation!
Well, Google is not the only one to aim at automating web-tasks. Microsoft’s AI tool Copilot also aims for the same checklist as Google’s ‘Project Jarvis’ do. Copilot also helps users to communicate while browsing through the web.
You also have Anthropic’s new update of its AI tool Claude AI promises to bring you an AI capable of using computers. On October 23, in an official blog Anthropic announced that it will upgrade its Claude AI to Claude 3.5 Sonnet. With the upgrade, Claude AI will be able to power virtual assistants that could perform research, answer emails and even handle other back-office jobs on its own.
Furthermore, Claude 3.5 Sonnet claims to match human expert level. For example, you can ask the AI model to copy button clicks, keystrokes or even move your cursor just like a human using a keyboard.
