It’s a great time to be a Samsung fan; the device portfolio extends beyond foldable phones, offering a range of smartphones, from flagship Galaxy S series flagships to more budget-friendly A series phones. Alongside are wearables like the latest Galaxy Watch8 Classic that has kept us engrossed with its plethora of features. Frankly speaking, there’s a lot one can do with this watch – it monitors sleep stages, heart rate, and blood oxygen levels, providing comprehensive reports and personalised coaching to improve sleep habits. Its sensors even detect possible symptoms of sleep apnea.
Premium design with smart navigation
The Galaxy Watch8 Classic has a stainless steel design and it looks elegant and sturdy in appearance. It is water-resistant and suitable for activities like swimming and surfing. I really liked its rotating bezel that helps in easy and satisfying navigation. There is also a quick button that helps users program the watch to launch specific apps or features with a single short or double press. Inspired by the heritage design of traditional timepieces, it provides quick access to frequently used functions, such as starting a workout, without needing to interact with the touch display.
The wristband provides enough comfort for daily activities. There is a bright and attractive Sapphire Crystal 1.34-inch Super AMOLED display that is clear and visible even in direct sunlight. An Exynos W1000 (5 core, 3nm) processor delivers smooth multitasking across apps. Users can explore and personalise the features and functions to set up their watch to their liking. I was able to control the music and even reply to messages through my wrist. The quick buttons allow for easy access to features like starting exercises, controlling a stopwatch, and enabling a flashlight.
Features, AI support and limitations
Another attraction is Google Gemini; this conversational AI assistant is integrated for hands-free task management and information retrieval. The only downside, besides its high price tag, is the battery life; users can expect around 30 hours with the display on and two days with the Always-On Display off. Other than that, this Samsung Classic is a great device to flaunt around.
