Krafton has updated Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) in India and added a new player experience for gamers to enjoy. The developer has officially released the BGMI 4.0 update, titled ‘Spooky Soiree’, for Android devices. The update has gone live on September 11, 2025, and introduces a host of new features, weapons, and a game mode to enhance the player experience.
What does the BGMI 4.0 update bring to gamers
One of the most notable additions as part of the new update is the mortar weapon, which is designed for long-range attacks. This gives players a new tactical option to gain an edge over their opponents. The developers have also focused on realism with the update, incorporating realistic reload mechanics and pistol animations to make the gameplay feel more immersive.
Additionally, a section of the Erangel map, the town of Lipovka, has been redesigned, offering fresh strategic possibilities for players to explore.
The update’s theme, ‘Spooky Soiree,’ is brought to life through a new mode and character. The new character, Ghostie, comes with a unique set of skills, including ‘Floating Balloon’ for aerial movement and a ‘Guardian Shield’ for defense. Ghostie also possesses various passive skills like “Armourer,” “Ghost Helm,” “Scan,” “Boost,” and “Heal,” which provide strategic advantages during battles.
Another key feature is the ‘Prankster Ghost’ mode, which allows players to continue fighting even after being defeated until their energy is completely depleted. In this mode, players can transform into a high-speed bomb, a shield, or use a scan to reveal the locations of their enemies.
