Apple held its annual developer conference in Apple Park and the grand event saw its opening with the announcement of the latest operating system for Apple Vision Pro headset. It is a big upgrade for Apple Vision Pro. It lets users make 3D-like photos from their existing pictures, use hand gestures for navigating visionOS , and adds new stuff for the Mac Virtual Display, Travel Mode, and Guest User.
Creating spatial memories
One of the standout features of VisionOS 2 is the ability for users to create spatial photos directly from their existing photo library. Leveraging advanced machine learning algorithms, VisionOS transforms 2D images into immersive spatial photos and these photos can be easily shared with loved ones.
New hand gestures
VisionOS 2 introduces new hand gestures, allowing users to navigate Vision Pro more seamlessly and access frequently used features with ease. Users can now access key functions such as Home View and Control Center using intuitive hand gestures, streamlining their interactions with the device. Additionally, productivity tools like Mac Virtual Display have been enhanced, offering higher resolution and larger size for an optimised workspace.
Empowering developers
For developers, VisionOS 2 brings a host of new APIs and frameworks, enabling them to create even more immersive and shareable app experiences. New tools like TabletopKit facilitate the development of shared and collaborative app experiences, opening up possibilities for innovative games and productivity applications. HealthKit integration further expands the potential for health and fitness apps on Vision Pro.
