As Blake Lively baked a thoughtful sweet treat for her daughter, she also shared a glimpse of her luxury property in New York, which is her primary family residence.
‘It Ends With Us’ star Blake Lively shared a rare glimpse of her $6 billion Pound Ridge retreat on Instagram. The doting mom was holding a rabbit-shaped cake in one of the pictures that she baked for one of her daughters.
While Lively’s baked delight was modelled after her daughter’s favourite stuffed bunny, the picture also gave a view of her home’s decor that featured wooden flooring, an artwork, chandelier and the furniture that included a sofa filled with his children’s toys.
The look and feel of the home also gives a peek into Lively’s life with husband Ryan Reynolds and children – James, Inez, Betty and Olin.
The bunny toy inspired cake
The Instagram post also takes us through the making of the adorable cake that was carved meticulously to look like her daughter’s stuffed toy, an effort that tells a lot about the actor as a mother. The bunny, almost a family member to Lively and her children, got a new avatar as a delightful sweet treat.
“I saw a beautiful quote along with a well loved child stuffy that said “to be loved, is to be changed forever”. This bunny has been so loved, so purely for so long. She is a family member. So of course, I had to turn her into cake,” wrote the actor on her Instagram post.
Sharing the recipe of the cake, the actress wrote: “My daughter’s favorite treat is Cinnabon buns, so as I was making a vanilla cake I did a last minute pivot when I got the idea to try to make a Cinnabon bun flavored cake.”
“I made a cream cheese pound cake (because I wanted the moisture but also the crunchy toasty outside) as two layers of sheet cake but added cinnamon to the batter. Then I made a cinnamon butter sugar filling like you would for cinnamon buns and used it as icing between the layers of cake along with a homemade cream cheese icing. Finally, I topped it all off with lots of cream cheese icing,” she added.
About Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds’ Pound Ridge property
Blake Lively’s retreat in Pound Ridge, New York, is a luxurious estate valued at $6 million. The property that was bought for $5.7 million in 2012, features seven bedrooms, six bathrooms, guest house, an outdoor barn, orchards, a stocked pond, and old stone walls. Originally built in 1860s, the mansion spans 11.65 acres.
Away from the city, the retreat is their primary residence and offers a serene view.
This isn’t the first house Lively and Reynolds bought together. According to People magazine, Lively and Reynolds moved in together after six months of dating, and got a $2 million house in Bedford, New York. However, they sold it to shift into their Pound Ridge house.
The other property the couple own is a Tribeca loft in New York City.
