In a remarkable celebration of entrepreneurial prowess, Mamaearth’s Ghazal Alagh and Sugar Cosmetics’ Vineeta Singh have emerged as not only the formidable ‘sharks’ in Shark Tank India but also the youngest and most accomplished women entrepreneurs in the country. A recent list unveiled by IDFC First Bank and Hurun Report has catapulted Alagh and Singh to the forefront, showcasing a diverse assembly of exceptional young women entrepreneurs who have carved their niche in the business landscape.

Leading the charge is Ghazal Alagh (35), securing the top spot, followed closely by Saumya Singh Rathore (35), the co-founder of vernacular social gaming platform WinZO. The list boasts impressive names like Rajoshi Ghosh (36), co-founder of API management app Hasura, and Garima Sawhney (37), co-founder of health-tech company Pristyn Care. Other notable entries include Kanika Gupta (39), co-founder of tech-led brokerage Square Yards, Vineeta Singh (40) from Sugar Cosmetics, Ruchi Kalra (40) of B2B commerce and fintech startup OfBusiness, Mabel Chacko (40), co-founder of neo-banking platform Open, Ruchi Deepak (41) from general insurance company Acko, and Amrita Sirohia (41), co-founder of the money app IndMoney.

This list accompanies the unveiling of India’s Top 200 Self-made Entrepreneurs of the Millennia 2023, where Radhakishan Damani, the visionary behind Avenue Supermarts (D-Mart), clinches the top position. Noteworthy is the domination of men on the self-made entrepreneurs’ list, with Nykaa’s Falguni Nayar securing the top spot among women entrepreneurs at 12th place. Ruchi Kalra stands at 13th place alongside her co-founders from OfBusiness.

Ghazal Alagh holds the 76th spot alongside Varun Alagh, while Saumya Singh Rathore, Rajoshi Ghosh, Garima Sawhney, Kanika Gupta, Vineeta Singh, Mabel Chacko, Ruchi Deepak, and Amrita Sirohia claim spots ranging from 100th to 199th along with their respective co-founders.

It’s crucial to note that the ranking of this list reflects the value of enterprises rather than the individual net worth of the founders. Anas Rahman Junaid, MD, and Chief Researcher at Hurun India emphasized the list’s significance, stating, “The IDFC FIRST Private Hurun India’s Top 200 Self-made Entrepreneurs of the Millennia 2023 showcases the vibrance of Indian entrepreneurship across age groups, gender, and geography.”

With one-third of the list under 40, the compilation exhibits the dynamic spirit of Indian entrepreneurship, with Bengaluru emerging as the preferred hub for most founders, in contrast to the Hurun India Rich List.
