Messi India Tour 2025: Marking his second visit to India, the Olympic gold medallist footballer Lionel Messi has officially broken silence on his GOAT tour. Calling it an “honour” to revisit the “passionate football nation” country where he last played 14 years ago, he said, “It is such an honour for me to make this trip. India is a very special country, and I have good memories from my time there 14 years ago — the fans were fantastic.
He further added, “India is a passionate football nation, and I look forward to meeting a new generation of fans while sharing the love I have for this beautiful game,” in an official statement. This comes months after the organisers had hinted at the player’s itinerary. Set to begin on December 13, it is also rumoured that Messi might make a pitstop in Kerala in November.
Messi’s 4-city GOAT tour 2025
The 2022 World Cup-winning captain will commence his tour in Kolkata on December 13, before he heads to Ahmedabad, Mumbai and New Delhi. In the capital, he is set to meet the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi on December 15. The Argentinian legend will also be seen headlining concerts, meet-and-greet events, food festivals, football masterclasses, and even a padel exhibition at Mumbai’s Brabourne Stadium.
Messi’s trip to Kolkata will be centred around his visit to the Salt Lake Stadium where the city will host the ‘GOAT Concert’ and ‘GOAT Cup’ for the second time. Messi will also share the field with Indian sporting legens like Sourav Ganguly, Baichung Bhutia, and Leander Paes. Fans can grab the ticket for the event starting at Rs 3,500.
Messi in Mumbai
In Mumbai, Messi will also attend the Padel GOAT Cup” and participate in a celebrity line-up that could include Shah Rukh Khan, Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni, and Bollywood stars. Based on the FIFA International schedule, the Argentina national football also mentions India in their November timeline and fans could not keep calm. The Lionel Scaloni-led world champions are scheduled to play a friendly in Kerala between November 10 and 18, although the venue and opponent are still to be confirmed. If the plan goes ahead, it could mark Lionel Messi’s second visit to India in just two months. However, there is still no clarity on whether the 38-year-old superstar will actually take the field in Kerala.
