Farah Khan has been visiting celebrity homes with her cook, Dilip, giving viewers a look at how stars live behind the scenes. After exploring several famous homes, she recently stepped into one that is personally special to her, the bungalow of her maternal cousin Farhan Akhtar and his wife, Shibani Dandekar. The filmmaker visited their Bandstand home in Bandra, Mumbai, and shared the full tour on her YouTube channel.

Farah was welcomed warmly by the couple, and the visit was filled with laughter, food, and a relaxed family vibe. She also enjoyed homemade keema kebabs made by Dilip, which Farhan and Shibani appreciated. During the visit, Farah joked that their house looked like an ‘alishan (posh) bungalow.’ So what’s there inside the celebrity couple’s bungalow?

A look inside Farhan and Shibani’s stylish bungalow

The home tour begins at the entrance, where tall green plants and wooden panels set a warm tone for the space. The outside gives the house a calm and earthy feeling, something that continues throughout the interiors.

Inside, Farhan and Shibani’s home is designed with cream-white walls and dark wooden accents. The decor is simple yet classy, leaning towards a minimalist theme with creative touches. Colourful paintings add life to the corners, while cosy reading areas are filled with books.

The pops of colour come through in unexpected ways like through vibrant artwork, indoor plants, fresh flowers, and unique furniture pieces. Farah admired how each corner seemed carefully curated yet natural, showing off the couple’s love for art, travel, and creativity.

Natural light steals the show

One of the most striking features of the bungalow is the amount of natural light it receives. French-style windows and open balconies brighten the entire space, making the home look airy and warm throughout the day. Farah pointed out that the sunlight beautifully highlights the paintings and decor, giving the rooms a fresh and uplifting feel.

Farhan then took Farah upstairs, where the upper level houses some of their favourite spaces. This includes a home theatre designed for movie nights, a gazebo-style open area perfect for evening relaxation, a spacious dining section, and large balconies overlooking Bandra’s greenery. The blend of comfort and design truly stands out here.

A home that reflects couple’s personality

The bungalow reflects both Farhan and Shibani’s personalities which is modern, calm, and artistic. Farah praised how the house feels warm and lived-in, not overly decorated, yet full of character.
