Signified by burning the effigy of Ravan, Kumbhkaran, and Meghnad, several Indians come together from all walks of life to celebrate this moment in Hindu mythology when Lord Ram triumphs over Ravan.
Today, also marks the historic Gandhi Jayanti on October 2. Honouring Mahatma Gandhi on his birth anniversary, PM Modi also expressed his sentiments. His post read, “Gandhi Jayanti is about paying homage to the extraordinary life of beloved Bapu, whose ideals transformed the course of human history,” in a long post. As per reports, PM Modi is likely to take part in the Dussehra celebrations in East Delhi today. He is likely to attend the festivities at the Utsav Ground in IP Extension, Patparganj for the Ravan Dahan ceremony around 6 PM.
