In a surprising announcement to his fans, Kevin Jonas, lead guitarist of the acclaimed pop-rock band Jonas Brothers, has disclosed that he recently underwent surgery to remove skin cancer. The 36-year-old musician shared his journey via social media, urging followers to remain vigilant about their health.

Jonas, known for hits like “Sucker” and “Burnin’ Up,” revealed that a small mole on his forehead turned out to be basal cell carcinoma, a common yet potentially serious form of skin cancer. He documented his experience in a candid video, where he highlighted the importance of regular skin checks.

“So today I am getting a basal cell carcinoma removed from my head”, Jonas could be seen saying in the video, filmed at a medical facility. “Yes, that is an actual little skin cancer, guys,” he added, stressing the necessity of early detection and treatment.

Basal cell carcinoma starts in the basal cells of the skin, which produce new skin cells. It often appears as a translucent bump but can look different. This condition is usually found on areas exposed to the sun, like the head and neck. After the surgery, Jonas posted a follow-up clip showing himself after the procedure. He captioned it, “Friendly reminder to get your moles checked,” aiming to raise awareness among his fans.

While Jonas focuses on recovering, the Jonas Brothers are currently on a break from touring. They finished their last show in Cancun, Mexico, on April 30. The band is well-known for their hit songs and lively performances, and they have a huge fan base around the world.
