The extremely ‘booked and busy’ K-drama star Park Bo Gum is on a roll this year. 2025 has already earned him massive TV hits like Netflix’s When Life Gives You Tangerines and JTBC’s Good Boy that have indisputably proved his versatility and acting chops yet again. Thanks to these small-screen blockbusters of varying genres, the South Korean star has also maintained his stance as one of the highest paid K-drama celebrities. Fortunately, his walk down the red carpet is not ending anytime soon.

At 32, the beloved actor is all set to star in a new movie coming fans’ way soon enough. Having already earned his flowers for his prominent historical drama Love in the Moonlight, Bo Gum has reportedly bagged another ‘sageuk’ role. According to K-media outlet MyDaily‘s August 14 exclusive report, an industry insider spilled deets about Park’s upcoming appearance in the Korean film “Dream Journey to the Peach Blossom Land” (literal translation).

If the report does stand on solid ground, then the Good Boy actor will be stepping into Prince Anpyeong’s shoes in the near future.

What we know about Park Bo Gum’s new K-drama

As per the JinwookJung website, the title “Dream Journey to the Peach Blossom Land” actually refers to a masterful artwork from the Joseon Dynasty. The story behind the landscape painting suggests that Prince Anpyeong was spurred by a mysterious and vivid dream of a paradise filled with beautiful peach blossoms in 1447 to call on the royal painter An Gyeon, and enlist him to draw his vision.

The film, that may potentially be led by Park Bo Gum as Prince Anpyeong, will explore his and Prince Suyang’s lives. As the sons of King Sejong, the two will be caught in a web of hierarchical struggle powered by their own ambitions and the underlying brotherly conflict.

Here, the role of Prince Suyang will reportedly be taken on by none other than actor Kim Nam Gil, our very own ‘Fiery Priest.’ As is already known, the Korean actor, who recently appeared in the Netflix series Trigger is BTS Jin’s role model. In addition to finding inspiration from him, the K-pop idol now shares a close friendship with the popular actor, whose performance in the classic K-drama Queen Seondeok pushed the globally-famed crooner to major in film studies.

Park Bo Gum, Kim Nam Gill – more than BTS in common thanks to new K-drama

Akin to Nam Gil’s BTS connection, his costar-to-be, Park Bo Gum, has also long been a dear friend of Kim Taehyung aka BTS’ V. Their decade-long affection for each other positively began taking shape when they both served as MCs on the South Korean TV program “Music Bank.” Ever since then, they’ve repeatedly emerged as staunch supporters of each other, and even paired up for red carpet appearances on the global stage.

If the latest K-drama casting report eventually gains the official stance, Park Bo Gum and Kim Nam Gil may soon share the same acting space and onscreen credits, and their distant BTS ties won’t be their only connecting bridge.

A release date and further production details for the “Dream Journey to the Peach Blossom Land” movie have yet to be unveiled. As of now, we only have the initial confirmation on Song Kang Ho-starrer A Taxi Driver‘s director Jang Hoon helming the film and Dodoong Pictures as the production banner.
