Pop hitmaker Ariana Grande recently appeared on actress and comedian Amy Poehler’s podcast ‘Good Hang with Amy Poehler’ where she spoke at length about a variety of topics. In one of the discussions, she opened up about how her next tour would be her last one for a long time.

For Grande, the decision comes at a time when she is venturing out of the world of pop music and dipping her toes into acting and theatre. She is currently on a press tour promoting her latest release at the theatres, ‘Wicked: For Good’ which is a sequel to last year’s ‘Wicked’ starring herself, Cynthia Erivo, Michelle Yeoh and Jonathan Bailey. She explained that she spent “so much time only doing pop music” but that had grown up as a girl who “loved musical theatre and comedy” hinting at future acting prospects.

A farewell tour for fans

Grande who released her latest album ‘Eternal Sunshine‘ at the end of 2024 hasn’t had the opportunity to perform it for fans but will do so when the tour commences in 2026. Speaking to Amy Poehler, she expressed her excitement for the upcoming musical stint but also said that she would be exploring other artistic ventures which called to her soul. “I’m very excited to do this small tour,” the singer said. “But I think it might not happen again for a long, long, long, long time.

Though she hasn’t explicitly declared a break from music she certainly implied a long hiatus with her ‘last hurrah’ remark. “I’m going to give it my all and it’s going to be beautiful. And I’m so grateful. I think that’s why I’m doing it because I’m like: ‘One last hurrah’ – for now,” The singer explained.

Ariana Grande’s last live tour for the album Sweetener was in 2019 which is now almost 6 years ago. Since then she has focused on acting, even managing to gain a nod from the Academy in the form of an Oscar nomination for the ‘Best Actress’ category last year.

Details of the upcoming tour

The singer’s upcoming Eternal Sunshine tour is on a much smaller scale than her previous world tour. With 41 dates, it is less than half as long as the Sweetener tour was with an impressive 101 shows across North America and Europe. It will see her perform across various cities in North America next summer followed by a 10-show residency in the O2 arena in London according to BBC.

Tickets are currently available for purchase through Ticketmaster’s website and even though some shows are completely booked out, fans can obtain passes from verified resellers on the website itself. For many Arianators, it may be the last chance to see the artist perform live for a very, very long period of time as the singer heads down a different path of artistic exploration for the unforeseeable future.
