Jana Nayagan OTT release: Thalapathy Vijay, the iconic Tamil superstar, is set to make his final on-screen appearance in Jana Nayagan. The political drama will release in theatres later this month, after a massive advance collection run of over Rs 18 crore for its opening day. Furthermore, IMDb revealed the OTT platform it will release on, amid a Rs 121 crore deal.
Jana Nayagan, directed by H Vinoth, will also feature Bobby Deol and Pooja Hegde. It is also set to release in Hindi, as Jan Neta, on January 9. With music from Arvind Ravichander, the film will feature powerful visuals, background scores, and staggering action sequences. Witnessing the trailer for the first time yesterday, netizens wondered if it was the ‘most violent Vijay film’ ever, on X (formerly Twitter).
Jana Nayagan OTT release details
As per IMDb report, Thalapathy Vijay’s Jaya Nayagan went through a tussle between OTT giants Netflix and Amazon Prime Video, quoting Track Tollywood. However, Prime Video ultimately won the battle in a massive Rs 121 crore deal for the OTT streaming rights for the Thalapathy Vijay starrer.
The movie is reportedly mounted on a massive Rs 400 crore budget, one of the most expensive regional films. As per reports, it has recovered at least 30.25 per cent of the cost from the OTT deal alone. The box office collections will only add to the film’s success. However, the amount is much lower than the signing amount of his film, The Greatest of All Time (The Goat), which was sold to Netflix for Rs 125 crore.
Thalapathy Vijay’s Jana Nayagan is also set to clash with superstar Prabhas’ Raja Saab in theatres. However, with Vijay’s star power pull, the film is likely to overshadow the fictional fantasy and put the records just recently broken by Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar in jeopardy. Fans online have drawn an uncanny resemblance between ‘Bhagavanth Kesari’, almost as if it were a remake of the same. In fact, there were several posts which spotted a peculiar logo, likely Google Gemini, at the bottom right of the trailer’s clip, pointing towards the use of AI.
