Bollywood actors Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are almost ready to move into their new six-storey bungalow in Bandra, Mumbai. The house has been under construction for months, even before their April 2022 wedding. Interestingly, the Krishna Raj bungalow was decorated with lights for their intimate wedding, even while work was still ongoing.
The bungalow has a deep family connection. It originally belonged to Ranbir Kapoor’s grandparents, Raj Kapoor and Krishna Raj Kapoor, and later passed on to his parents, Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor, in 1980. The property, reportedly worth Rs 250 crore, is designed with a mix of elegance and simplicity. Each balcony features greenery, giving the home a fresh and calm look.
Privacy breach sparks Alia’s response
The couple’s excitement over their new home has been affected by a privacy breach. A viral video showed the bungalow’s full exterior, and Alia Bhatt lashed out at the media for posting it without permission. Alia Bhatt took to Instagram to express her anger at the paparazzi.
“In Mumbai, space is limited, and sometimes the view from your window is another person’s home. But this doesn’t give anyone the right to film private residences without consent. This is a clear invasion of privacy and a serious security issue. Filming or photographing someone’s personal space without permission is not ‘content’—it’s a violation. It should never be normal,” Alia wrote.
She asked her followers to think about how they would feel if their own home was filmed and shared online. “None of us would tolerate it,” she added. She also requested that anyone who comes across such videos should not share them further and urged media houses to take down the clips immediately.
Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s move-in plans: When will they shift to their new home?
Despite the controversy, media reports suggest that Ranbir and Alia may soon move into their new home. While no official date has been announced, they might choose an auspicious day for the shift, following the Kapoor family tradition.
With its rich history, elegant design, and the couple’s personal touch, the Krishna Raj bungalow is set to become Ranbir and Alia’s private retreat very soon.
