Dhak dhak girl of Bollywood, Madhuri Dixit, celebrates her 57th birthday today on May 15. Born in 1967, the actress entered into the film industry in 1984 with ‘Abodh’, however she got the limelight with the film Tezaab in 1988 when she got acclaimed for the song ‘Ek do teen’. Post that, her stardom rose in the 90s with iconic films such as Beta, Khalnayak, Hum Aapke Hain Kaun..!, Dil Toh Pagal Hai, among others.

  1. Purple embellished saree from Hum Aapke Hain Kaun..!

Her extravagant purple saree from the song Didi Tera Devar Deewana, created by the well-known costume designer Anna Singh, was one of the highlights. Among the numerous Anil Kapoor-Madhuri Dixit films, Beta is a treasure. Raju’s stepmother is shown in the movie brainwashing him while feigning affection in order to obtain his money. Raju learns his mother’s reality when he marries the learned Saraswati. She was dubbed Dhak Dhak girl after Madhuri’s song Dhak Dhak Karne Laga from this film.

In Hum Aapke Hain Koun, Prem and Nisha’s playful exchange at their siblings’ wedding culminates in a charming tale of love. But as Nisha’s sister passes away, they choose to give up their love. It is one of the greatest Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit films because of its timeless charm.

Dil To Pagal Hai, one of the well-known Shah Rukh Khan and Madhuri Dixit films, tells the tale of three dance troupe members who become embroiled in a romantic triangle: Nisha is secretly in love with Rahul, who develops feelings for Pooja; however, Pooja has a relationship of her own with her childhood best friend, Ajay.

The film starring Shah Rukh Khan and Madhuri Dixit, was presented at the 2002 Cannes Film Festival. The protagonist of the historical drama — Devdas Mukherjee aspires to marry Paro, the woman he loves, however, due to his family’s disapproval of their union causes him to develop an alcohol addiction. He encounters Chandramukhi, a courtesan, and goes to her for solace.

  • Dola re dola

“Dola Re Dola” is a song from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s 2002 Indian period romance drama film Devdas, which starred Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai, and Madhuri Dixit. Ismail Darbar wrote the music, Nusrat Badr gave the lyrics, and Kavita Krishnamurthy, Shreya Ghoshal, and KK (backing vocals) sang it. Aishwarya Rai and Madhuri Dixit, two of the biggest actresses of the time, performed a unique dance duet for the song, which won praise from both critics and fans and went on to become a hit.

  • Tamma tamma loge

The popular song Tamma Tamma Loge and its peculiar dance routines are perhaps what people remember most about the movie. It was the third time that Dutt and Dixit partnered together. The song was even made again for Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt starrer Badri ki Dulhaniya.
