The sixth edition of the Filmfare OTT Awards took place in Mumbai on December 15. The event honoured the best films, web series and performances from streaming platforms this year. Celebrities like Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal attended, as actors, directors and technicians took home the iconic black lady.

This year, intense dramas, strong performances and well-written stories stood out. Shows like Paatal Lok Season 2, Black Warrant and Khauf were among the biggest winners of the evening. Web original films such as Girls Will Be Girls, Stolen and Sector 36 also made a strong mark.

Big winners in the series category

Paatal Lok Season 2 was one of the most celebrated shows of the night. It won Best Series (Critics) and several other awards. Jaideep Ahlawat won Best Actor (Male) in a drama series for his performance, while Tillotama Shome won Best Supporting Actor (Female). The show also won awards for Best Story and Best Original Screenplay, highlighting its strong writing.

Black Warrant also emerged as a major winner. The team won Best Director (Series), and Zahan Kapoor won Best Actor (Male), Critics. Rahul Bhat was named Best Supporting Actor (Male) in the drama category. The show also won Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Breakthrough Performance by a Newcomer (Male), which went to Anurag Thakur.

Khauf impressed both audiences and critics. Monika Panwar won Best Actor (Female) in the drama category for her role. The show dominated the technical awards, winning for cinematography, editing, background music, visual effects and sound design. It also shared the Best Story award with Paatal Lok Season 2.

In the critics’ section, Anubhav Sinha won Best Director for IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack and also received the award for Best Dialogue. Nagesh Kukunoor won Best Director (Series) for The Hunt: The Rajiv Gandhi Assassination Case.

Comedy series were also recognised. Raat Jawaan Hai won Best Comedy Series. Barun Sobti and Sparsh Shrivastava shared the Best Actor (Male) award in comedy, while Ananya Panday won Best Actor (Female) for Call Me Bae. Vinay Pathak and Renuka Shahane won the supporting actor awards in the comedy category.

Winners in web original films

In the film category, Girls Will Be Girls emerged as the biggest winner. It won Best Web Original Film, and Shuchi Talati was named Best Director. Preeti Panigrahi won Best Actor (Female), Critics, while Kani Kusruti won Best Supporting Actor (Female).

Stolen won several important awards. Abhishek Banerjee won Best Actor (Male), and the film also won awards for Best Story, Best Cinematography and Best Sound Design. Shubham Vardhan won Breakthrough Performance by a Newcomer (Male). Karan Tejpal won Best Debut Director, sharing the award with Aditya Nimbalkar for Sector 36.

Sanya Malhotra won Best Actor (Female) for her role in Mrs. Vikrant Massey won Best Actor (Male), Critics, for Sector 36. Deepak Dobriyal won Best Supporting Actor (Male) for the same film.

Ctrl won several technical awards, including Best Original Screenplay, Best Editing and Best Background Music. Agni won awards for Best Dialogue and Best Production Design. Aap Jaisa Koi won Best Music Album.

Short films and documentaries

Short films and documentaries were also honoured at the event. Divorce won Best Short Film (People’s Choice). Ayesha won Best Short Film (Fiction), and Fatima Sana Shaikh won Best Actor (Female). Ayan Khan won Best Actor (Male) for Chashma. Langur won Best Short Film (Non-Fiction or Documentary), while Renuka Shahane won Best Director for Dhaavpatti.
