De De Pyaar De 2 Day 4 Box Office Collection: Ajay Devgn’s De De Pyaar De 2, the sequel to the popular 2019 romantic comedy, released in theatres on Friday with strong expectations. The film had a fairly decent opening weekend, collecting Rs 34.75 crore in its first three days. But the real test came on Monday, and the film unfortunately stumbled.

According to early estimates by industry tracker Sacnilk, De De Pyaar De 2 recorded a major drop on Day 4, earning just Rs 4.25 crore, bringing the domestic box office total to Rs 39 crore. This is a steep fall of nearly 70 per cent from Sunday’s Rs 13.75 crore, which is surprising considering the original film, and the pairing of Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan.

De De Pyaar De 2: Occupancy remains low across major regions

On Monday, the film registered an overall 9.96 per cent Hindi occupancy nationwide. Morning shows started slow at 6.53 per cent, picked up slightly in the afternoon to 9.42 per cent, stabilised around 10.07 per cent in the evening, and ended the night at 13.82 per cent. Despite Delhi–NCR having the highest number of shows at 1,421, the region recorded only 9.5 per cent occupancy. Mumbai, with 840 shows, did moderately better at 13.75 per cent.

De De Pyaar De 2 Box office collection so far

The film earned Rs 8.75 crore on Day 1, Rs 12.25 crore on Day 2, and Rs 13.75 crore on Day 3, followed by Rs 4.25 crore on Day 4, making the total Rs 39 crore at the domestic box office.

How De De Pyaar De 2 compares to Ajay Devgn’s recent releases

When compared to Ajay Devgn’s recent releases, the picture is mixed. De De Pyaar De 2 has done better than Son of Sardaar 2, which stood at Rs 27.1 crore after its first four days. But against other Ajay Devgn sequels and collaborations, the film is trailing significantly.

For instance, Raid 2  boosted by an extended weekend had already reached Rs 71.25 crore by Day 4. Even the last Ajay Devgn–R Madhavan collaboration, Shaitaan, was far ahead with Rs 61.25 crore in the same time frame.

Compared to its own predecessor, the numbers fall short as well. The original De De Pyaar De had collected Rs 44.73 crore by Day 4, comfortably ahead of the sequel’s Rs 39 crore.

The film is also behind several major releases of 2025. Housefull 5, starring Akshay Kumar, crossed the Rs 100 crore mark by its fourth day. Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par managed Rs 66.65 crore, while Salman Khan’s underperforming Sikandar posted Rs 84.25 crore by Day 4.

Ayushmann Khurrana’s festive drama Thamma, despite mixed reviews, also registered a stronger Rs 65.6 crore in its first four days.

Can De De Pyaar De 2 recover?

With several new films including 120 Bahadur, Mastii 4, Tere Ishq Mein, Gustaakh Ishq, and Dhurandhar releasing over the next three weeks, the competition will only get tougher. The weekday numbers will decide whether the film can stabilise and pick up momentum again over the coming weekend.
