De De Pyaar De 2 box office collection day 7: The De De Pyaar De series is back, and so is Ajay Devgn to the big screen. Playing the character of Ashish, dramatically in love with a significantly younger Ayesha. Played by Rakul Preet Singh, the couple wreaks romantic havoc in London as their relationship takes fruition. Returning to India, they discover that Ayesha’s father, Rakesh (R. Madhavan), opposes this union.

Fighting against the societal age-based taboo, the couple gives the audience their share of laughs and drama. As De De Pyaar De 2 completes one week at the big screen, it is set to face competition from Farhan Akhtar’s war film 120 Bahadur and Vivek Oberoi’s Masti 4.

De De Pyaar De 2 collection week 1: Box office update

After a modest opening day of Rs 8.75 crore, De De Pyaar De 2 made big waves on its first weekend. Reaching the double digits on day 2, the Ajay Devgn starrer grossed Rs 12.25 crore. After collecting Rs 13.75 crore on Sunday, the rom-com reached a Rs 26 crore weekend.

Facing the usual weekday slump, De De Pyaar De 2 dropped by nearly 70% on Monday, showing a sharp decline from Rs 13 crore to Rs 4.25 crore. Recovering slightly, the Rakul Preet-Madhavan starrer made Rs 5.25 crore on day five, while it minted Rs 3.5 crore on Wednesday. After a Rs 3.35 crore in box office collections on day 7, De De Pyar De 2 crossed the Rs 50 crore mark by a margin. Globally, Sacnilk reported that the worldwide collection crossed Rs 75 crore after making nearly Rs 20 crore.

However, the gradual decline in occupancy remained constant as De De Pyaar De 2 managed to fill 8.6% seats in India. As the show numbers took a dip, the Luv Ranjan production only performed decently in Chennai, Bengaluru, and Mumbai, mainly non-Hindi states. In Jaipur, it remained a steady hit. The second weekend might become make-or-break for De De Pyaar De 2, as other Bollywood releases give stiff competition to the romantic drama.

The Anshul Sharma directorial also stars Ishita Dutta, Meezaan Jaffrey, Javed Jaffrey, and Gautami Kapoor in key roles.
