Superstar Rajinikanth’s highly anticipated film Coolie continued its strong run at the theatres despite facing a minor drop on Sunday. The film, which opened during the Independence Day week, is now set to cross the Rs 200 crore mark at the domestic box office. Released on the same day as Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR starrer War 2, the film has managed to stay ahead in box office collections during its opening weekend.
Coolie Box Office Collection Day 4
According to trade tracker Sacnilk, Coolie earned Rs 35 crore on its fourth day of release. This is a fall of 11.39% compared to Saturday’s figures, when it collected Rs 39.5 crore on August 16. Despite the small dip, the overall weekend total now stands at an impressive Rs 194.25 crore.
The Rajinikanth-starrer was released on August 14 in Tamil, along with dubbed versions in Hindi, Telugu, and Kannada. The film has witnessed strong footfall across all languages, with the most collections particularly from the Hindi-speaking and southern markets.
Coolie occupancy across India
On its fourth day, the film reported huge occupancy among Tamil-speaking viewers, averaging 63.75%.

The Hindi version of Coolie witnessed 41.98% occupancy on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the Telugu version saw 49.53% occupancy on August 17.

In terms of screenings, Chennai led the Tamil belt with 1,053 shows, followed by Bengaluru at 714 and Coimbatore with 355. For Hindi audiences, Delhi NCR had 278 shows, while Mumbai and Ahmedabad had 211 and 217 respectively. Hyderabad was leading the Telugu market, with 542 screenings for Coolie.
Coolie vs War 2
Both Coolie and War 2 released on August 14, just in time for the Independence Day holiday weekend. While War 2 earned Rs 31 crore on Day 4, Coolie managed to leave it behind with Rs 35 crore on the same day. Though the difference is not much, the Rajinikanth film’s earnings are still higher.
