Avatar Fire and Ash worldwide box office collection day 9: In this third journey to Pandora dominates the box office, and James Cameron is officially the only director with four films in the billion-dollar club. Released earlier this month, Avatar: Fire and Ash has made huge waves at the box office, two weeks into the blockbuster race.
Riding on the Christmas-New Year festive spirit, James Cameron’s Avatar: Fire and Ash has grossed over $180 million in the US on the final weekend of 2025, and entered the Rs 100 crore club in India at the helm of its second week in theatres. It also gives direct competition to Timothee Chalamet’s Marty Supreme, which stands at $27 million on the final box office weekend.

According to Sacnilk, Avatar: Fire and Ash opened with Rs 19 crore in India. It had a blockbuster debut weekend as it soared past the Rs 50 crore mark. The overall first week collections rung at Rs 109 crore. Entering its second with Rs 8 crore, the second Saturday saw a major dip from the first as the fantasy sci-fi movie made Rs 9.5 crore. However, the total tally crossed Rs 126 crore and a nearly 50 per cent occupancy in theatres.
Including the overall worldwide record, gross collections reported a Rs 3800 crore feat. Having crossed the $500 million mark, there was only going upwards for Avatar: Fire and Ash.
Is Avatar 4 coming?
After enjoying a stellar 3-hour 17-minute show of the Na’Vi crisis, not one, but two following parts are likely set to be released. As per reports, James Cameron has been stressing that they only depend on Fire and Ash’s theatrical run. Rumoured to be released in 2029 and 2031, the films will complete a five-film arc with a 6-year time jump planned.
However, Avatar maker James Cameron reiterated that if Avatar: Fire and Ash underperforms, the upcoming projects might be cancelled. He teased the fans and shared that Avatar 4 and 5 might be placed in a colder region with Arctic-style biomes. He even revealed that the script of the fifth movie is fully written, with the fourth instalment shot halfway through. Interestingly, after spending over 4 decades committed to the franchise, Cameron has already started ideating for Avatar 6.
