Superstar Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Baby’ scored better on the second day to rake in Rs 11.17 crore in box office collections – the weekend extending into the Republic Day holiday on Monday will also definitely boost the ‘Baby’ figures.
The ‘Baby’ movie, which had an average opening by generating Rs 9.3 crore on the opening day, had robust growth in multiplexes on Saturday. According to early reports, the movie did well in major cities to take overall collections to Rs 20.47 crore.
There has been huge expectations regarding ‘Baby’ and the film is expected to enjoy a long run at the box office. ‘Baby’ box office collections might not have been earth-shattering on the first two days, but distributors are expecting a big jump in collections during the extended weekend with India celebrating Republic Day on Monday.

‘Baby’ movie is Akshay Kumar’s ninth biggest opening day grosser in a list topped by his 2012 release ‘Rowdy Rathore’ (Rs 15.10 crore), ‘Boss’ (Rs 14.5 crore) and Housefull 2 (Rs 14 crore). in 2014, his two movies – ‘Holiday – A Soldier Is Never Off Duty’ and ‘Entertainment’ – also opened well at Rs 12.18 crore and Rs 11.57 crore respectively.
