Border, the 90s legendary war film is back with a sequel and fans can’t keep calm. After a series of poster launches, starring key characters from the film, the teaser of Border 2 is finally out on the occasion of Vijay Diwas (December 16), marking India’s historic victory in 1971 war against Pakistan.
While Sunny Deol makes a much-awaited return, the film, directed by Anurag Singh, is joined by new faces such as Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty.
Sunny Deol’s powerful voiceover
The teaser gives a glimpse of all key characters, with Sunny Deol’s powerful voiceover running in the background. Deol sings glory of the Indian soldiers and warns them that they can’t intrude into the land through land, air or water. Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty play soldiers to the hilt doing everything to guard India’s borders.
The 2-minute clip also give a peek into the personal lives of the soldiers as they spend moments with their lovers, wives, and family. Sunny Deol is seen in a familiar avatar and a scene sees a bomber gun resting on his shoulder.
Who’s starring opposite Sunny, Varun and Diljit?
Joining the war heroes, will be the female cast members including Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Anya Singh, and Medha Rana. However, their roles are expected to be short and sweet just like previous film. One of the notable dialogues comes towards the end of the teaser when Sunny Deol asks – “Awaaz kahan tak jani chahiye? and the soldiers respond – “Lahore tak. (Till Lahore.)”

The magic of Border
Border, released in 1997, was directed by JP Dutta and became an instant hit for its soul-stirring sequences and heroic portrayal of Indian soldiers. The biggest opener of the year, the film made on a shoestring budget of Rs 10 crore, collected Rs 39.6 crore net in India, registering a profit of 296% at the box office, according to Koimoi.
When is Border 2 releasing
Border 2 is all set to hit theatres on January 23, 2026, ahead of the Republic Day weekend.
