Bollywood dance movie ABCD 2 box office collections have created another record by raking in a massive Rs 45 crore plus in the opening weekend – the movie stars Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh posted the statistics on Twitter saying, “#ABCD2 records the HIGHEST OPENING WEEKEND of 2015 [so far]. First Hindi film to cross ? 45 cr mark [Fri-Sun] in 2015. India biz.”

ABCD 2 box office collections had got off to a rollicking start by managing to rake in Rs 14.30 crore on day 1, which was a record. With this ABCD 2 became the No. 1 movie of 2015 based solely on opening day collections – in case you wanted to know, ABCD stands for Any Body Can Dance.

The film is a sequel to Remo DSouza’s directorial debut ‘ABCD’ (Anybody can dance) starring Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor in lead roles.

ABCD 2 film was released by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures and got released in India across 2,000 screens, 500-700 of which were in 3D, making it the largest 3D release in India.

ABCD 2 box office collections almost reached the Rs 50 crore mark if you add the foreign take to the total at Rs 49.48 crore and one reason behind it may well be that the film was released by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures across 2,000 screens, 500-700 of which were in 3D, making it the largest 3D release in India.
