JEE Main registration 2024: Eligibility Criteria

For JEE Main Eligibility Criteria 2024, the particulars are as follows:

  • Age Limit: There is no specified age limit for candidates.
  • Qualifying Examination: Candidates must have passed their 10+2 or equivalent examinations from a recognized board.
  • Year of Passing the Qualifying Examination: Eligibility applies to candidates who have cleared their 10+2 exams in 2022, 2023, or are currently appearing for them in 2024.
  • Number of Subjects in the Qualifying Exam: Candidates should have cleared 5 subjects, including Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational Subject, and any other subject.

Additionally, the NTA re-implemented the 75 percent marks eligibility criteria for JEE Mains in the previous year. This criterion now necessitates candidates to achieve a minimum of 75% in their Class 12 exams to qualify for their desired institute through JEE Mains. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, such a condition did not exist, and no specific 12th-grade percentage was mandatory for JEE Mains. Candidates failing to meet the 75 percent criteria will be considered ineligible, leading to disqualification, thereby losing the opportunity for admission to esteemed institutes like IITs, NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs.
