The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued comprehensive guidelines outlining prohibited ‘Unfair Practices’ for candidates appearing in the upcoming JEE Main exams. Violating these guidelines may lead to the cancellation of the examination for the involved students, as they provide an unfair advantage over others. The JEE Main exams are scheduled to take place on January 24, 27, 29, 30, 31, and February 1.

List of unfair practices that should be avoided

Candidates are strictly advised to refrain from engaging in any of the following activities:

1. Possession of Prohibited Items:

Any candidate found with items or articles prohibited in the examination hall will be deemed to be involved in unfair practices.

2. Impersonation and Cheating:

Using someone else to write the exam (impersonation), preparing materials for copying, breaching exam rules, or disregarding NTA directives for JEE (Main) 2024 will be considered unfair.

3. Assisting in Malpractices:

Assisting other candidates in engaging in malpractices, providing or receiving assistance directly or indirectly, or attempting to do so will be treated as unfair practice.

4. Unauthorized Communication:

Contacting or attempting to communicate with anyone other than exam staff during the exam, threatening officials or candidates, using undesirable methods or means, and manipulating or fabricating online documents are strictly prohibited and considered unfair practices.

5. Disruptive Behavior:

Forceful entry or exit from the examination hall, using electronic devices after entering the center, affixing/uploading incorrect or morphed photographs/signatures, or possessing unauthorized bits of paper are strictly forbidden and will be deemed illegal.

Candidates found guilty of unfair practices will face serious consequences. They will be booked under the Unfair Means Case (UFM), potentially leading to a three-year debarment from future exams and criminal action. Additionally, the results of JEE (Main) 2024 for those engaged in unfair practices will be canceled and not declared. Candidates must adhere to these guidelines to ensure a fair and transparent examination process.
