This year, the UPSC has announced 1,056 vacancies for CSE and 150 for IFoS, a decrease from last year’s 1,105 posts. In 2021, there were 712 vacancies, and in 2020, there were 796.

Candidates have a strict time frame of seven days to submit representations regarding the questions asked in the examination papers. This period starts the day after the exam and closes at 6:00 p.m. on the seventh day. Any submissions made after this deadline will not be accepted under any circumstances.
Candidates are strictly prohibited from using any mobile phones, pagers, smartwatches, or other electronic devices, whether switched on or off, during the examination. Violation of this rule may result in disciplinary actions, including a ban from future exams. The use of any communication-capable device is not permitted at any time.
The Commission will not be held responsible for the usage of disclosed information regarding non-recommended candidates by any public or private organizations. Once the information is made available on public portals, the Commission disclaims any liability for how external entities utilise or process this data.
Candidates will have the option to decide whether they want their scores and personal details disclosed. This choice will be made during the Interview/Personality Test phase while downloading the e-Summon Letter from the Commission's website. Those who opt out will have their information kept confidential and not published.
Applicants were notified that a cap was set on the number of candidates per examination centre, except for centres in Chennai, Dispur, Kolkata, and Nagpur. The centre allotment followed a "first-apply-first-serve" policy. Once a centre reached full capacity, it was closed for further allotments. Candidates who couldn't secure their preferred centre due to the limit had to select from the remaining available options. To increase the chances of securing a preferred centre, applicants were advised to apply early.
The Civil Services Examination consists of two key stages

Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) is a highly popular choice for higher education, especially for students aspiring to clear the UPSC Civil Services Examination. Many believe that JNU offers an ideal academic environment to support UPSC preparation. According to UPSC data from 1974 to 2014, JNU ranks just behind Delhi University in terms of successful candidates. Over those 40 years, 7,890 JNU students appeared for the exam, with 1,236 making it to the merit list, reflecting a success rate of 16.95%.
