The University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) has opened applications for its undergraduate fellowship programs. Interested candidates can submit their applications through the official scholarship portal at isa.ustc.edu.cn. The application period runs from October 20, 2024, to March 31, 2025.

To apply, students need to create an account on the USTC Application System and select the desired fellowship level. Applicants may choose to apply for one or both levels, but the final decision on the scholarship level will be based on a comprehensive evaluation by USTC. Each applicant will only be awarded one scholarship.

The USTC undergraduate scholarship offers two levels:

-Level A, sponsored by USTC, covers tuition fees, Comprehensive Medical Insurance, a monthly stipend of 2,500 RMB, and an accommodation allowance.

– Level B, also funded by USTC, covers tuition fees.

Eligibility Criteria:

– Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with a valid passport and be in good physical and mental health.

– They should have passed the new HSK Level 5 or higher. Applicants whose first language is Chinese or who attended a high school where instruction was in Chinese may request an exemption from the HSK test.

– Applicants must hold a high school diploma (or equivalent to the Chinese high school diploma) by July 2025.

– Candidates should be under 30 years old by September 1, 2025.

– Graduating students must submit a Pre-graduation Certificate confirming they will complete their studies and earn their degree by July 2025.

– Applicants who have received other scholarships or funding for the academic year 2025-2026 are not eligible to apply.

Applicants should ensure that all documents not in Chinese or English are accompanied by notarized translations in either Chinese or English.
