Physics Wallah (PW), an ed-tech platform claims to have expand its reach beyond academics with ‘Prerna,’ a free helpline addressing students’ emotional well-being. PW claims that the helpline, already helping more than 20,000 students across India. Additionally, it will extend its offline support to 16 more cities, offering expert counseling in multiple languages to PW and other students, according to an official release.

Prerna, part of the PW foundation, boasts a team of 17 online and six offline counselors based in Kota and Patna. It claims to offer online services nationwide from 10 am to nine pm, six days a week. Prerna goes beyond counseling, involving parents in identifying and addressing students’ issues. They claims to conduct webinars, meditation sessions and actively engage with students at Kota and Patna PW Vidyapeeth centres, strengthening their presence in the academic community. To overcome language barriers, Prerna’s expert counselors are proficient in Hindi, English, Marathi and Tamil, the release mentioned.

“Students frequently approach me to confide in their challenges, and I feel genuinely concerned. As the company expanded, it became increasingly difficult to personally connect with every student. I take immense pride in our Prerna team, which established a supportive community, empowering students to confront their challenges proactively,” Alakh Pandey, founder, CEO, PW, said. 

In the future, Prerna helpline (9990500122) intends to expand its team of expert counselors and introduce video counseling features to extend its reach to every part of India, it added.
