NEET-UG Counselling 2024: Counselling for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET-UG) 2024 is set to begin on August 14, as per a notice from the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) issued on Monday (July 29). 

Registration for the counselling process is expected to start in the first week of August, according to Dr. B Srinivas, Secretary of the National Medical Commission (NMC).

Candidates are encouraged to regularly check the MCC website for the latest updates and notices regarding the counselling process.

“The counselling will take place for the allotment of approximately 1.10 lakh MBBS seats in around 710 medical colleges across the country. Also, the counselling will be held for 21,000 BDS seats besides Ayush and nursing seats,” Srinivas said.

  • Verification of tentative seats – August 14 to 16
  • Registration and payment – August 14 till 12 Noon on August 21
  • Choice filling and locking – August 21 to 22
  • Round 1 Result, Merit List – August 23
  • Reporting and Joining – August 24 to 29
  • Verification of Joined Candidates data by institutions – August 30 to 31.

1.10 lakh MBBS, 21,000 BDS seats up for grabs

This counselling will cover the allocation of approximately 1.10 lakh MBBS seats across around 710 medical colleges in India, as well as 21,000 BDS seats and seats in AYUSH and nursing programs.

The MCC will oversee counselling for 15 percent all-India Quota seats, all seats at AIIMS, JIPMER Pondicherry, central universities, and 100 percent deemed university seats.

The final results of the NEET-UG exam were announced by the National Testing Agency on Friday, following the Supreme Court’s resolution of various petitions, including those addressing alleged irregularities in the exam’s administration.
