The eligibility criteria for participating in NEET PG counselling are based on the PostGraduate Medical Education Regulations, 2023:
- General/EWS: 50th Percentile
- SC/ST/OBC (Including PwD of SC/ST/OBC): 40th Percentile
- UR-PwD: 45th Percentile

The merit position for the All India 50% quota seats will be announced separately. Each State/UT will generate the final merit list and category-wise merit list for State quota seats based on their own qualifying criteria, applicable guidelines, regulations, and reservation policies.

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has announced the results for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2024. Candidates who took the exam can check their scores on the official NBEMS website at natboard.edu.in.
NBEMS has stated that there will be no re-evaluation, rechecking, or re-totaling of the responses submitted by candidates.
Over two lakh NEET PG candidates appeared across both shifts, with 1,07,959 students in the first shift and 1,08,177 in the second shift.
This year a slight increase in the cut-off can be expected as the number of candidates rose as well, The Indian Express reported.
Based on trends from the past five years, Ranjith AR, Academic Director at Physics Wallah MedEd, anticipates the NEET PG 2024 cut-off to be:
Unreserved (UR) candidates: 285-295 (50th percentile)
SC/ST/OBC candidates: 250-260 (40th percentile)
UR-PH candidates: 260-270 (45th percentile)
SC/ST/OBC-PH candidates: 245-255 (40th percentile)
Candidates who pass the NEET PG 2024 test will be eligible for admission to 26,699 MD, 13,886 MS, and 922 Postgraduate Diploma seats.
The board initially released the preliminary answer key for NEET PG, available on the NBEMS official website. Applicants had the opportunity to raise objections to any incorrect answers in the key. The final answer key will be generated after reviewing the challenges submitted by students. Additionally, the board will publish the results and category-specific cut-off scores.
Candidates who took the NEET PG 2024 exam can access their scorecards by entering their registration number and date of birth as shown on their admit card, once the portal is available on the official websites natboard.edu.in and nbe.edu.in.
The responses marked by candidates on the NEET PG 2024 will not be reevaluated, rechecked, or recalculated. NBEMS will not entertain any requests or inquiries for reevaluation or re-totaling.
Candidates who have taken the NEET PG exam and wish to check their results can visit the official NBEMS website at natboard.edu.in. Additionally, results will also be available on nbe.edu.in once they are declared.
The NEET PG exam date for this year has undergone multiple changes. Initially set for March 3, the test was postponed. The National Medical Commission (NMC) rescheduled it to June 23 due to the Rath Yatra event, but this date was also cancelled. The final date for the NEET PG 2024 exam was set for August 11.
For each incorrect answer, a 25% penalty will be applied. Unanswered questions will not incur any deductions.
The NEET PG 2024 results will be published in a roll number-wise format. Candidates can check their scores by entering their individual roll numbers to access their results.
The NEET PG 2024 postgraduate medical admission test was conducted on August 11, 2024, with approximately 228,540 candidates participating. The exam was held in two shifts across 416 centers in 170 cities nationwide.

Candidates in the General and EWS categories must achieve a minimum of 50 percentile in the NEET PG exam to qualify. General-PwBD candidates need to score at least 45 percentile to pass. For SC/ST/OBC candidates (including PwBD of SC/ST/OBC), the qualifying percentile is set at 40.
The validity for NEET PG 2024 is only for one academic year and it cannot be considered for next year. In case, the student is not able to take admission because of some reason in the current year, they will need to reappear for the next session.

NEET PG Results 2024 will be assessed based on a marking scheme. The questions paper includes 200 questions of 800 marks. For every correct answer, four marks will be awarded, for every wrong answer one mark will be deducted, and for questions that have been left unattempted zero marks will be allotted.
