Masters’ Union, a business school based in Gurugram has released its audited placement report for the PGP (MBA) cohort of 2023. The report reveals that the one year MBA/PG programme offered by Masters’ Union has achieved an impressive average package of Rs 34.07 LPA. Brickwork Analytics, the rating and auditing agency that audits IIM Ahmedabad’s placement report, conducted the audit for Masters’ Union’s placement report, according to an official release.

Masters’ Union claims that a total of 137 companies have  participated in the recruitment drive, with the highest package reaching Rs 57.08 LPA. Among the cohort, the top 25% secured an average package of Rs 44.67 LPA, while the bottom 25% received an average package of Rs 22.35 LPA. Notably, this represents an 11.64% increase from the average of the preceding year, the release mentioned.

With a global economic downturn, the year 2023 was surely difficult. With constant stories of major layoffs and hiring freezes, we all approached this year’s placement season with anxiety. Both the Careers Advisory Team and the students worked twice as hard to discover recruiters, convert shortlists, and land interviews,” Manoj Kohli, chairman, board of governors, Masters’ Union, said.

The 2023 cohort experienced a substantial salary surge, witnessing an impressive 3.91X increase from Rs 8.7 LPA pre-MBA to Rs 34.07 LPA post-MBA. Among the sectors, consulting claimed the top spot with 21.2% of offers, followed by venture capital at 19.0%, Finance & FinTech at 18.3%, Consumer at 14.6%, Emerging Tech at 10.9%, and Large Tech at 4.4%, the report reveals.

Leading consulting firms such as McKinsey, Bain and Company, BCG, Accenture, Samagra, EY, Deloitte, PwC and others actively recruited from the cohort. In the Finance and FinTech sector, notable companies like Citi, Aditya Birla Capital, HSBC, CRED and ICICI Bank were among the prominent recruiters, as per the release.

Additionally, it showcased instances of internal career advancement within industries, where alumni achieved promotions to positions like senior manager-co lending partnerships at Ziploan, Senior Management Consultant at EY and Product Strategy Manager at MoEngage, the release mentioned.
