The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) will conduct the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) 2024 on June 9. The exam will be held as a computer-based test from 9 am to 12 pm.
IISER IAT 2024 scores will be used for admission to the five-year BS-MS (dual degree) and four-year BS degree programs at IISER Berhampur, IISER Bhopal, IISER Kolkata, IISER Mohali, IISER Pune, IISER Thiruvananthapuram, and IISER Tirupati.
The test will be computer-based, taking place at multiple centres across India. It will consist of 60 multiple-choice questions, divided equally among biology, chemistry, mathematics, and physics. Each correct answer will earn four marks, while each incorrect answer will result in a one-mark deduction. The total score for IAT 2024 is 240.
IISER IAT 2024 exam guidelines
Candidates may bring only their hall ticket, an original photo ID card, a transparent water bottle, and a ball pen into the exam hall. The admit card can be downloaded from the official website, iiseradmission.in. The hall ticket must be printed on A4 size paper from a laser printer with a clear photograph and signature of the candidate. The photograph should be pasted in the designated area.
Candidates must carry a photo ID card such as an Aadhaar card, voter ID, passport, PAN card, driving licence, photo-pasted nationalised bank passbook, or photo-pasted 10th/12th marksheet or certificate. The ID must include the candidate’s photograph and signature. Furthermore, candidates need to bring the filled-out self-declaration form provided with the hall ticket.
Jewellery, metallic items, and electronic gadgets (e.g., mobile phones, calculators, smartwatches) are not allowed inside the exam hall.
Candidates should report to the exam centre by 7 am. Entry will not be permitted after 8:30 am. Priority entry will be provided for PwD candidates. Candidates are advised to visit the exam centre the day before the exam to avoid any hassle on exam day.
The original hall ticket and a xerox copy of the photo ID card will be collected in the exam hall. Candidates should retain an additional copy of the hall ticket for future reference. Only some candidates appearing in IAT 2024 will be awarded a rank. Note that obtaining a rank does not guarantee an offer or admission to an IISER.
