The Indian Institute of Science in Bengaluru is set to conduct the GATE 2024 examination starting on February 3, 2024. This Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering will span four days, taking place on February 3, 4, 10, and 11, 2024, across numerous centers in more than 200 cities/towns in India only.

The exam will be split into two shifts, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm, and will be a Computer Based Test (CBT). Admit cards were released on January 4, 2024, and candidates can download them through the official website of IISc GATE at gate2024.ac.in.

Key information to remember before GATE 2024 exam

  • Candidates need to adhere to exam day guidelines, including occupying allotted seats 40 minutes before the scheduled start, logging in to read instructions 20 minutes before, bringing a printed copy of the Admit Card on A4 paper for verification, along with a valid original photo ID specified during the online application.
  • GATE 2024 papers will have a three-hour duration (four hours for candidates with compensatory time), with 65 questions totalling 100 marks. A scribble pad will be provided for rough work, and candidates must write their name and registration number on it before use.
  • Strict regulations prohibit calculators, mobile phones, electronic devices, books, papers, and more in exam halls. The guidelines aim to ensure a smooth and fair examination process for all candidates participating in GATE 2024.
