CLAT 2026 registration: The Consortium of National Law universities (CNLUs) has started the registration process for CLAT 2026, India’s national-level law entrance exam, from August 1, 2025. All the eligible candidates can apply for admission in the undergraduate (BA/LLB) and postgraduate law courses through the official website-consortiumofnlus.ac.in till October 31, 2025.
The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2026 will be conducted in offline mode on December 7, 2025, Sunday. The exam timing for the same will be from 2 PM to 4 PM. An extended time period for the PwD candidates has also been provided. The application form will be submitted through online mode only.
CLAT 2026 application form details
As per the official notification, the application fee is Rs 4,000 for General, OBC, NRI, OCI, and PwD candidates, whereas candidates from SC, ST, and BPL categories will need to pay Rs 3,500. Additionally, Rs 500 will be charged for those who want to access previous years’ CLAT question papers.
Here is the steps to follow for filling up the application form of CLAT 2026
Step 1: Students will need to visit the official website-consortiumofnlus.ac.in and will have to click on the registration link for CLAT 2026.
Step 2: Through your registered phone number and email ID, create an account and then receive the login credentials.
Step 3: A passport-size photograph, along with a scanned signature and valid category, needs to be uploaded.
Step 4: Complete the application process by paying the fees online.
Step 5: Make sure all the information provided is correct, and then click on the submit button. Candidates will now be able to save the confirmation page for future use.
Documents required for CLAT 2026
Students will need to submit a passport-sized photograph with a plain background, a scanned signature, category certificate if you are from reserved categories. Candidates will need to submit all the certificates and documents in PDF format only.
Candidates who are 12th pass for undergraduate courses and for postgraduate courses, and an LLB candidate with minimum qualifying marks of 45%, will be able to appear for the examination.
