On the 10th day of the Winter Session of Parliament, significant legislative activities are anticipated in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will introduce the Central Universities (Amendment) Bill, 2023 in the Rajya Sabha, seeking amendments to the Central Universities Act, 2009. The Lok Sabha has already passed this bill.

Furthermore, Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal is set to present the Repealing and Amending Bill, 2023 in the Rajya Sabha for deliberation and approval, aiming to repeal certain enactments and modify others. This bill has already secured passage in the Lok Sabha.

In addition to this, Union Minister Smriti Zubin Irani is scheduled to address the Rajya Sabha on the status of implementing recommendations and observations from the 350th Report of the Department-related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Education, Women, Children, Youth, and Sports, specifically concerning the Ministry of Women and Child Development.

Rajya Sabha MPs Vivek Thakur, Sangeeta Yadav, and Faitaz Ahmad will present three reports, in both English and Hindi, from the Department-related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Education, Women, Children, Youth, and Sports. These reports cover various topics, such as government actions on recommendations and observations, research-based education, and the Ministry of Women and Child Development’s response to demands for grants.

Additionally, MPs Ashok Bajpai and Rajmani Patel will table the 35th report of the Department-related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Consumer Affairs, Food, and Public Distribution for the year 2023-2024, focusing on the government’s actions regarding observations and recommendations in its Thirty-First Report on “Coarse Grains Production and Distribution.”

Meanwhile, several ministers, including General V K Singh (Retd), Sadhvi Niranjana Jyoti, Nityanand Rai, Annpurna Devi, B L Verma, Ajay Kumar, Pratima Bhoumik, and Subhas Sarkar, are also scheduled to address various ministries.

The Winter Session of Parliament, which began on December 4, is scheduled to continue until December 22, comprising 15 sittings spread over 19 days.
