CBSE Class XII Board 2021 latest news: In a major relief for the parents and the students, the Centre on Tuesday decided to cancel the CBSE Class XII exams this year due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Making the announcement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the decision was taken keeping in mind the wellbeing of the children. After the announcement, the CBSE has assured that the results of the Class XII students would be declared in a ‘time-bound’ manner. This is very crucial as the results would determine the process and timing of enrolment of students for higher studies. The Board has also said that similar to what happened in 2020, in case some class XII students decide to sit for the exams, the Board would provide the details as and when the situation stabilises. Apart from the CBSE, the CISCE has also decided to cancel the Class XII board exams. News agency ANI quoted Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations Chairman Dr G Immanuel saying that the ISC Class XII results will be declared soon. How the marks will be computed will be closely watched by the students.
After the meeting, PM Modi took to Twitter to make the announcement. He said that the decision was taken to protect the ‘future of the youth’.

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who has been raising the demand for CBSE exams cancellation, congratulated the students after the announcement. She said that children have been filled with anxiety over this and now need to relax and savour this victory.
Congratulations, students of class 12 for making your voices heard. After all the uncertainty and stress, you deserve to relax and celebrate today!

Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi also hailed the decision and said that this was a massive relief for the CBSE students. Meanwhile, Union Education Minister Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, who has been admitted to the Delhi AIIMS due to post-Covid complications, said that the Modi government has always paid close attention to the safety and career of the students. He also said that the CBSE Class 12 results will be declared based on the criteria already defined last year.
