CBSE Results 2025: Passing Criteria and Grading System

To pass, students must secure at least 33% marks in each subject, covering both theory and practical exams. CBSE follows a nine-point grading scale, where A1 represents the highest achievement (91-100 marks) and E denotes a need for improvement.

It’s important to note that CBSE does not publish a toppers’ list. Instead, merit certificates are awarded to the top 0.1% of students in each subject for both Class 10 and 12. This move aims to avoid unhealthy competition. Additionally, CBSE does not label students with second or third divisions.
