A meeting took place between Pema Khandu, chief minister, Arunachal Pradesh and KT Parnaik, former lieutenant general of the state who now serves as the Governor. This meeting was held at the Raj Bhavan in Itanagar. The discussion between Khandu and Parnaik revolved around several key topics, including education, the vibrant village programmes and the ongoing development projects within the state, according to an official statement.

During the interaction, Parnaik, who had recently participated in a two-day conference on higher and technical education, offered valuable advice to Khandu. He recommended the establishment of a ‘Think Tank’ tasked with providing recommendations to the state government for the effective implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the statement mentioned.

Furthermore, Parnaik expressed his concern regarding the sluggish progress of infrastructure construction at Arunachal Pradesh University. He emphasised the importance of bolstering youth engagement, particularly within the National Cadet Corps (NCC), and highlighted the need to promote NCC in all educational institutions, as per the statement.

In addition to these discussions, Parnaik also shared his observations and insights regarding the vibrant village programmes with CM Khandu, contributing to their ongoing evaluation and enhancement efforts, it added.
