The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission conducted the preliminary level of examination of Group 2 on Sunday, February 25. The exam was conducted across all exam centres in one session from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm. To qualify for the APPSC exam candidates are required to pass all three levels of the selection process.
The Selection Process 2024
The 2024 Selection Process for the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) Group 2 positions entails a rigorous three-stage evaluation. It begins with a screening test, followed by a mains exam, and culminates in a computer proficiency test (CPT). The screening test carries 150 marks, while the mains exam is weighted at 300 marks, and the CPT is at 50 marks.
For the prelims, candidates face a 150-question multiple-choice test, lasting 150 minutes, with each correct answer earning one mark. However, incorrect responses incur a penalty of one-third of the mark allotted. Moving forward, successful candidates progress to the mains exam, which consists of two papers, each containing 150 MCQs. Again, negative marking applies, deducting one-third of the marks for wrong answers.
The third level- Computer Proficiency Test
The mains exam maintains the same duration as the prelims, with each paper spanning 150 minutes. Following the mains, candidates undergo the APPSC Group 2 Computer Proficiency Test, aimed at evaluating their computer skills within a 60-minute timeframe. The minimum qualifying marks for this test vary according to category.
For SC/ST/PH candidates, the threshold is 30 marks, while BC applicants require 35 marks, and OC candidates need 40 marks. Updates regarding subsequent recruitment stages will be accessible on the commission’s official website. Aspiring candidates are urged to monitor the website for further announcements and pertinent information regarding the APPSC Group 2 Recruitment 2024 at http://psc.ap.gov.in/.
