Bill Gates on Human Jobs in Future: Since the time Artificial Intelligence came into the picture, the debate around it replacing human jobs has refused to die down. The discussion recently got interesting when Microsoft founder Bill Gates gave his two-cents on the matter.
Now that ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, and DeepSeek among others have become an integral part of most of the workforces, Gates said that there are certain jobs which will remain AI-proof in the future.
Many reports and tech leaders, including NVIDIA’s Jensen Huang, OpenAI’s Sam Altman, and Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff, have predicted that coders will be among the first tones to lose their jobs to AI, but Gates believes that humans will have a crucial role in the this process. However, he also said that humans may no longer be needed for most of the things.
Which jobs will be safe from AI in future? Here’ what Bill Gates thinks:
The 69-year-old mentioned that AI won’t be able to replace biologists but will be helpful for tasks like diagnosing diseases and analyzing DNA, as it lacks the creativity needed for scientific discoveries.
Gates also stated that AI won’t replace energy experts because the field is too complicated to fully automate.
Now one may think that AI would first and foremost replace the programmers because it can code. But Gates argues that humans are still going to be important for coding in the future. Gates believes that while AI can generate code, it still makes mistakes, sometimes big ones. So human programmers will be needed to fix errors.
